A top ranking vervet monkey loftily surveys the neighbourhood from the top of the roof of our house.
Behind him and lower down on the roof other members of the troop sat resting or grooming each other while youngsters played. His senior status and princely manner are unmistakeable. He would have paid his dues and worked hard to earn the respect that he now commands.

I guess if you get to be top monkey, you have a reason to look pretty confident and in charge.
