Another in the series of flower portraits, this is a cluster of flowers of the Dais cotinifolia.

For obvious reasons it is referred to as the Pompom Tree. It is also known as the Pincushion Tree. It is a relatively small tree, ideal for gardens, and it flowers in early summer. In our area it drops its leaves at the end of winter and acquires new leaves in late spring.
