This week’s photo find is of two buffalo approaching a tortoise, grazing near a waterhole in the Addo Elephant National Park.
The tortoise appeared to be unconcerned, and the buffalo merely mildly curious. The Blacksmith Plover was more intent in keeping a lookout for an insects that might be disturbed by the buffalo.

I love the picture and your commentary brings it to life, making me look further, for example to the plover and it’s intent watch for insects. Wonderful 🙂

Thanks Eliza. Yes indeed, although buffalo often look to be totally placid, the formidable horns truly can be lethal.
