Although I have featured this plant before, I thought its flowers decorative enough for another look. The African Dog Rose has elegantly showy flowers.
I photographed these flowers early one morning and used the camera’s (rarely used) built-in flash to enhance the brightness and contrast.

Lovely photo and a good use of the flash there. The flash on my camera is still in mint condition!

Thanks Graham. I use the flash so seldom that I forget that the hood makes a shadow. I forgot to remove the hood for this photo but fortunately in this case it didn’t matter!

And now you’ve reminded me that my hood is in mint condition too. The main reason I don’t use that is it doesn’t easily fit in my camera bag, which is probably not the thinking of good photographers!

Truly a beauty. Using the flash was brilliant the way it highlights the roses against the dark background.

Thanks. I seldom use the flash so it was an interesting experiment.

This has a touch of languid elegance quite unlike the pretty-in-pink charm of our own dog rose.

I like your descriptions. Of course ours is not a real dog rose but one can see why it is named as being one.
