An adult Vervet Monkey looks slight wistful as he watches the rest of the troop moving through the trees on the edge of our garden.
This monkey sports an impressive set of whiskers but I am not sure if he has high ranking status within the group or not. Lower ranking individuals have to wait their turn as higher ranking members of the group get first access to resources, including food and water.

Thanks Anne. Vervets are very expressive – they wear their hearts on their sleeves.
