Well, it is a surprise that the Weekly Photo Challenge comes to an end this week. Over the years this series has in itself been a favourite, and it has inspired and connected many bloggers on WordPress.
In looking back through my WPC photos, I thought that the theme “new horizons” was apt at this time as we say farewell to the WPC. We need to think ahead and look for new horizons.
When I first posted this photo of favourite flowers in the garden, I commented: “The sun always on their horizon, a new horizon every day! The gerbera daisies in our garden are showing me the way.”
To all fellow bloggers who rose to the weekly challenges: look to new horizons as you keep on clicking and keep on posting!

This is such a pity and initially there was a bit of rage in me due to the absence of notice given. But life goes on

Yes it was rather sudden, the ending, and it will be missed. But after over seven years I wonder how the team kept coming up with new ideas! Sometimes (thought not always) a bit of shake-up can lead to interesting innovations – in this case, the non-weekly-photo-challenge challenge?

It is a shame that they have decided to stop and I have seen many outpourings of grief but when a door closes another opens and I am confident that you will continue to shine with your wonderful pictures and informative text and that I will continue to delight in following you.

Yes it is a shame, but hopefully bloggers will find new ways to connect and share. Glad that we met – and I think it might have been through the weekly photo challenge? Thanks Osyth.

Yes, it is sad. We were kind of taking it for granted!

Yes it is sad as the WPC did provide such a good way of connecting with other inspiring bloggers. I can clearly remember when we ‘met’ over me posting summer pics during what was winter for you 🙂 I so enjoy your pics and posts.

Thanks so much Nikki. I enjoyed the double challenge of limiting myself mostly to images taken in the garden. I am considering broadening out beyond the garden gate a little more often.
