Cats do seem able to achieve a Zen-like calm when sitting and practicing their version of awareness meditation.
I have always liked this photo of our cat Nina apparently meditating, and I decided to use a pencil effect to enhance the air of serenity.

I’ve always suspected that the art of meditation is best learnt from cats. Lovely image of Nina! 🙂

I absolutely agree that cats are the best teachers – and in other respects too 🙂

Gorgeous! It has a wintry Christmas feel to it. Perfect for over here on Dec 1st! I wonder if I have that editing option…. (I suspect not!)

Thanks Sandra. Yesterday we sweltered and then had a storm that was quite tropical in its intensity. Hard to imagine winter elsewhere and hard to believe it is December already. I use the free-to-download PhotoScape for editing. I used the pencil sketching option for this photo under the category “pictorialization”.

Thanks so much Margaret. Yes, the cat is very nice! Btw, I am still pretty much “virtually housebound” as our internet service has still not been reconnected. Yesterday we got a diagnosis – it has been connected to a crossed line, so perhaps now they will know how to fix it! When that happens I can start visiting again (among all the other things that an Internet connection enables one to do).

We have become horribly dependent, haven’t we? All the same, so long as you’re not crossing wires with a certain Donald Trump, all should be well in the end.

Indeed she is a beauteous cat. She is the first that we hand reared – after she was found cold and alone on a pathway when she was only a few days old.
