Ella, the younger cat, adores her special friend, the elderly cat named Pip. Each is a close friend to me, but the friendship they share with each other is touching to witness.
As can be seen in these photos, the much younger Ella dotes on the tabby-and-white Pip, who is 17 years old. She washes him and snuggles with him and helps keep him warm. Sometimes her attention is a bit overwhelming for the older cat, but the fondness is returned.
Sadly, as Pip ages some of his ailments are catching up with him. As we care for him, Ella too treasures him with love and affection.

I have two precious kitties as well. One male, one female, both are about 2 years old. They have a daily routine that consists of bathing one another and going to full-on war with one another. My male will actually use a specific battle cry before they fight, to get the female riled up. It’s better than TV, haha.

Cat dynamics are endlessly fascinating, and definitely better than TV 🙂 Had to laugh at your description of your two’s ACDC relationship, and can just visualise the battle cry. We currently have four cats of different ages and all rescued ferals, three of them hand reared from tiny. Their orphan origins and growing up without siblings and feline mother role model complicates dynamics even further. Never a dull moment 🙂

So sweet! Sorry to hear Pip is facing challenges. I have a ‘thera-kitty’ with renal failure, so we’re on that road, too. 😦

Thanks Eliza. So sorry that you also have a cat with kidney disease, as this is one of Pip’s problems too. It is not an easy road as we try to find a way that is the kindest under the circumstances. I sympathise with you and your cat.
